About Amy

Hi, I’m Amy Koczera—a storyteller, communicator, and former journalist. I’ve always believed that good storytelling is how we make sense of chaos, shape perception, and drive change.

Where I Started

My career began in journalism. Print, then broadcast. I started by freelancing for my local newspaper and taking on a biweekly travel column before eventually moving across the country to take a full time job as an on-camera, multimedia journalist in an ABC affiliate newsroom.

I was drawn to journalism because I believed in its power to inform, challenge, and connect. But over time, I also saw how corporate and systemic forces often diluted that mission.

That’s what led me to pivot into public relations and communications in the corporate world, where storytelling can make or break trust. Today, I lead global PR and brand efforts in the cybersecurity and tech space, helping simplify complex topics and communicate with clarity, integrity, and influence.

What I Do

Throughout my career, my work has spanned editorial, brand, and strategic domains. I’ve written and created:

  • Investigative news stories and live broadcasts
  • Travel columns and lifestyle features
  • Videos for various platforms including social media, web/digital, and TV
  • Executive thought leadership pieces and op-eds
  • Brand messaging frameworks and campaign strategies
  • Presentations, scripts, and various marketing assets

I also run a blog called The Bite Back—a personal storytelling project exploring media disillusionment, career reinvention, and the complicated reality of the media systems we trust.

Why This Site Exists

I created this site to bring my work into one place to provide more context behind my narrative, professional life, and personal projects.

Without context, the work here feels disconnected. This site helps me provide that context by taking ownership of my story, highlighting how each chapter has led me to where I am today and shaped my work.

Because in the age of information and influence: if you want your story told right, you can’t leave it open to interpretation. You have to tell it yourself.

Whether you’re here to explore my writing, browse my creative work, or start a conversation—thanks for stopping by.

Send me a note if you’d like to connect.
